Pokémon Destined Rivals arrived in 2025 as a set celebrating iconic trainer-Pokémon partnerships that defined the franchise. Released during a period of renewed collector interest in character-driven sets, it successfully blended nostalgia with modern card design, making it particularly appealing to both longtime fans and newer collectors discovering the hobby's history. Misty's Staryu captures one of anime's most memorable partnerships in reverse holo form. The card honors Misty's signature water-type companion with artwork that reflects their bond, making it a natural target for fans of the Cerulean City Gym Leader and those building character-focused collections.
