SkyBox's 1990 release represented an important moment in basketball card history, arriving at the intersection of traditional and modern collecting aesthetics. The set featured glossy photography and vibrant design work that appealed to both longtime hobbyists and the wave of new collectors entering the market during basketball's explosive growth in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This Michael Adams card captures the Denver Nuggets guard during his prime years as a starter in the NBA. Collectors appreciate SkyBox's photography and design approach from this era, and off-center variations like this example add another layer of interest for those who hunt specific printings and printing peculiarities across their collections.
