Topps Garbage Pail Kids stickers defined 1980s pop culture and remain the most iconic parody trading card series ever produced. Launched in 1985, the line combined crude humor, satirical artwork, and aggressive marketing that made them wildly popular with kids while scandalizing parents. The 1986 series maintained the franchise's momentum, cementing GPK's place as a defining artifact of the decade's irreverent sensibility. Card 174a from this series exemplifies the set's appeal: crude subject matter rendered in vivid, expressive artwork that walked the line between gross-out comedy and genuine artistic skill. Collectors pursue individual stickers like this one for their nostalgia factor, their cultural significance, and the sheer variety within each series. Each card captures a specific moment in 1980s humor and design.
