Garbage Pail Kids experienced a major resurgence in the early 2010s, with Topps returning to produce new sticker sets that captured the irreverent humor and satirical illustrations that defined the franchise. These modern releases reconnected collectors with the brand's legacy while introducing a new generation to its anarchic sensibility. The 2012 sticker sets became notable markers of the hobby's broader nostalgia wave, blending retro appeal with contemporary design sensibilities. Relay Trey exemplifies the series' signature style of absurdist wordplay and cartoonish artwork. The card's grotesque illustration and punny title are characteristic of what drew collectors to Garbage Pail Kids—a willingness to be deliberately crude and funny in ways mainstream trading cards typically avoided. These individual characters and scenarios remain popular with both longtime enthusiasts and newer fans discovering the brand.
