Comic Images' 1991 Incredible Hulk set arrived during the early boom of non-sports trading cards, when publishers rushed to capture Marvel's expanding fanbase. These colorful, accessible sets helped introduce casual comic readers to the trading card hobby and remain nostalgic artifacts of early nineties pop culture enthusiasm. The Hulk's enduring popularity made this series particularly collectible among fans of the character. Namor, the Sub-Mariner, represents one of Marvel's classic antiheroes and a natural inclusion in any Hulk-focused set given their complex history. Collectors appreciate cards featuring this complex character, whose underwater kingdom and conflicted allegiances have made him a fan favorite since his 1939 debut. Vintage Marvel cards from this era continue to appeal to both casual enthusiasts and dedicated collectors.
