Comic Images' 1991 Incredible Hulk set arrived during the early boom of non-sports trading cards, when Marvel characters dominated collector interest. Released before the major comic book movie adaptations of the 2000s, this set captured the character in his classic comic book form and remains a nostalgic artifact of early '90s pop culture collecting. The colorful artwork and straightforward design exemplify the era's direct approach to superhero card design. Card 35, "Rejoined," depicts a pivotal character moment rendered in the vibrant illustration style characteristic of the set. The card explores one of the Hulk mythology's central themes—the complex relationship between Bruce Banner and his alter ego. Collectors appreciate this card for its visual storytelling and its place within the broader narrative arc presented across the set.
