Comic Images' 1991 Hulk set arrived during the trading card boom when non-sports cards flourished alongside the dominant sports market. These sets captured Marvel's rich character roster through illustrated cards that appealed to comic fans and collectors alike. The early '90s represented a golden era for Marvel trading cards before the market consolidated, making these releases historically significant snapshots of how the hobby celebrated superhero properties. Super Skrull embodies the appeal of these sets—a visually striking card featuring one of Marvel's most formidable villains. Collectors are drawn to character-focused cards that showcase iconic antagonists and their unique powers. This card remains a notable pull from the set for fans of classic Marvel villainy and those building comprehensive Hulk-related collections.
