Comic Images' 1991 Incredible Hulk set captured the character's popularity during a resurgence of interest in Marvel properties. Released before the modern superhero film era, this set stands as a nostalgic artifact of early nineties comic book culture, when trading cards remained a primary way fans engaged with their favorite characters outside of monthly comics. The set's colorful artwork and comprehensive character roster made it accessible to both seasoned collectors and casual fans discovering the Hulk mythology. Card 84 features Ulysses, a character tied to the Hulk's complicated mythology. Collectors are drawn to this card for its connection to the broader narrative surrounding Bruce Banner and his alter ego, representing one of many character studies within the set's lineup. It remains a solid example of early nineties superhero card design and storytelling.
