Signature comparison
This card. The signature as cropped from the slab photo (front).
Below, the known examples Crown compared it with. Examples with stronger proof (signed in front of staff, or certified by an independent authenticator) carry the most weight.
Feature by feature
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall form and proportions | Small '4'-like lead mark at left, then a large U/J-shaped loop. 'ODIE' arcs in small capitals across the top, 'WAY' is stacked below inside the bowl, and a tall closing oval sits at the right. The signature is roughly as tall as it is wide. | Same architecture in R1–R8: '4' lead mark, large left U-loop, small arched 'ODIE', 'WAY' underneath, tall right oval. R1, R2, R4 and R5 are somewhat wider relative to height. | Natural variation |
| Slant and baseline | Upright strokes are nearly vertical with a slight lean. 'ODIE' rises along an arc and 'WAY' drops diagonally down-right. | Upright strokes lean more noticeably in the measured references. The rising 'ODIE' arc and descending 'WAY' appear in all of them. | Natural variation |
| Letter construction | Block-capital 'O D I E' with a separately made 'E'. 'W A' are angular and the 'A' is open or triangular. A hooked or crossed terminal mark sits at the top right of the closing oval. | Same block-capital 'ODIE' and angular 'WA'. The top-right hook, a '6' or reversed-arrow shape, appears in R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R8. | Match |
| Connecting strokes | Mostly disconnected print-style elements. The large loops are made as single sweeping strokes. | Same: printed letters set inside two sweeping loop strokes. | Match |
| Starting and ending strokes | Starts with the small '4' at far left. The right oval ends in a hook or tick at the top. Starts and ends look tapered rather than blunt at this resolution. | Same '4' start and top-right hook finish across the references. | Match |
| Line quality and speed | Smooth, confident curves on the large loops with no visible tremor or hesitation at this resolution. | Fluent, fast loops in all usable references. | Match |
| Pen pressure pattern | Felt-tip-style line with mild width variation and darker deposits at turns. | Similar felt-tip line and mild width variation in R1, R2, R4 and R5. | Match |
| Spacing | 'ODIE' is tightly spaced. 'WAY' is somewhat compressed inside the bowl. | Spacing varies from card to card, from tight (R4, R6) to looser (R1, R3). | Natural variation |
| Flourishes and underlines | A diagonal slash or underline below 'WAY', running down-left to up-right. | One to three diagonal underline strokes in the same position on every reference. | Match |
| Placement and size | Lower right of the card over the blue armor, lightning and fur, about a third of the card width. | Identical placement zone and similar relative size on all references. | Match |
| Facsimile/overlay check | Shape is not a duplicate of any single reference. Loop sizes and letter positions differ from each. | Each reference is individually different. | Match |
Measurements
Software traced the ink and measured it against the known examples. The shaded band is the signer's normal range across those examples; the gold marker is this card.
| Feature | This card | Known examples | Normal range | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slant of upright strokes | -4.0° | -12.9–-9.1° | Edge of range | |
| Height to width | 1.008 | 0.761–0.952 | In range | |
| Ink travel per unit width | 5.54× | 5.04–6.26× | In range | |
| Stroke thickness variation | 0.476 | 0.414–0.507 | In range | |
| Closed loops | 11 | 1.0–5.0 | Outside range | |
| Separate strokes | 14 | 9.0–16.0 | In range |
The computer measured six features of the ink and compared them with four of the cleanest reference signatures (R1, R2, R4, R5). The overall shape (height to width) is within the signer's normal range, though on the tall side. Three photo-sensitive features are also normal: how much ink is laid down across the width, how much the line thickness varies, and how many separate pen strokes were used. The upright strokes stand a bit straighter than usual, -4.0° against an average of about -10°. That is borderline, the kind of difference a different hand position or signing angle can produce. The one flagged feature is the number of closed loops, 11 against 1–5 on the references. That count is easily inflated by ink crossing the busy lightning artwork, so it is not used in the call, but it was a reason to look closer. Overall the numbers support the visual finding that this signature fits YodieWay's known autographs.
Examiner notes
All eight references and our card are the same 2026 YodieWay WhatNot Streamer card, signed in the same spot over the blue armor and lightning area. Crown serials run from 000050495 to 000065297, and ours (000053698) falls inside that range, so this is one signing period with no meaningful career-era drift. The differences seen are signing-to-signing variation, not era change. None of the references is described as a Crown-witnessed signing. All are Crown-authenticated, so they rank as Crown-reviewed references rather than independent first-hand provenance.
How Crown authenticates autographs: the signature is compared with known examples gathered from Crown's own authenticated cards, independent authenticators and public listings, measured by software, examined by an AI forensic model, and signed off by Crown Grading staff. The decision above is Crown's.
