Released in 2000, Pokemon: The Movie 2000 arrived at the height of a global phenomenon that had swept across playgrounds, television, and trading card tables. As the second theatrical feature in the franchise, it carried the weight of enormous fan expectation and helped cement Pokemon as a defining piece of turn-of-the-millennium pop culture. For a generation, films like this were a first shared cinema experience.

At the heart of it all is Pikachu, the bright and instantly recognizable face of the entire franchise. To own an authenticated 35mm cell featuring Pikachu is to hold a genuine fragment of the film itself, a small physical artifact from an era before digital projection made such things a rarity.
