"Pikachu's Vacation" arrived in 1999 as the animated short paired with the first Pokémon feature film, reaching theaters at the height of the franchise's global surge. For a generation of young fans, it was an early experience of seeing these characters on the big screen rather than a television set. The short traded plot for playful energy, letting the Pokémon interact without their trainers, and it remains a warm memory from an era when Pokémon felt genuinely new.
