Released by Paramount Pictures in May 1986 and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, Top Gun became one of the defining blockbusters of the decade. Directed by Tony Scott, the film launched Tom Cruise to superstardom and its soundtrack — anchored by Kenny Loggins' 'Danger Zone' — became equally iconic. It remains a landmark of 1980s cinema and a touchstone of American popular culture.

These three consecutive frames capture the film's main title card sequence, displaying the distinctive TOP GUN logo with its red star and wing motif against a black field, flanked by the producer and star credits. The optical soundtrack waveform is clearly visible along the lower edge, and the middle frame retains a partial countdown leader circle — a rare artifact of the theatrical print's assembly.
