Released by Paramount Pictures in May 1986 and directed by Tony Scott, Top Gun became one of the defining blockbusters of the decade. Shot in collaboration with the U.S. Navy using real F-14 Tomcats and carrier operations, the film's aerial photography set a new benchmark for action cinematography and drove a measurable surge in Navy recruitment.

These three consecutive frames capture a dramatic low-angle, ground-to-sky perspective of an F-14 Tomcat passing directly overhead, its twin engines and swept-wing silhouette filling the frame against a saturated blue sky. The tight sequential spacing across the strip suggests a fast, low flyover — a signature visual motif of the film's aerial sequences.
