Released by Paramount Pictures in May 1986 and directed by Tony Scott, Top Gun became one of the defining blockbusters of the decade. Shot largely on and around Naval Air Station Miramar, the film blended aerial photography with a glossy pop aesthetic that made it a cultural touchstone and a landmark in sound-mix exhibition.

These three consecutive frames capture a uniformed naval officer leaning over a surface inside an office or briefing room, venetian blinds throwing sharp horizontal shadows across the background and an American flag bunting running along the lower frame edge — consistent with the interior command scenes set at Miramar.
