Top Gun was released by Paramount Pictures in May 1986 and became one of the defining cultural artifacts of the decade, directed by Tony Scott and produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. Its blend of military spectacle, romantic tension, and a chart-dominating soundtrack made it the highest-grossing film of that year and cemented Tom Cruise as a major star.

This cell, titled Charlotte 'Charlie' Blackwood, captures a sequence from what appears to be a bar or social setting, filmed from an inverted angle above the action.
