Top Gun was released by Paramount Pictures in the summer of 1986 and became one of the defining blockbusters of the decade, cementing Tom Cruise as a major star and setting a new standard for action filmmaking. Directed by Tony Scott, the film's kinetic aerial photography and propulsive style made it a cultural landmark, and its 35mm prints remain among the most visually striking of the era.

This cell, titled F-14 Tomcat, captures three frames from a sustained aerial sequence shot from a chase plane or tanker above an arid landscape. The frames show the iconic Navy fighter in slight banking motion, the desert terrain stretching below, offering a clean and unobstructed view of the aircraft that defined the film's visual identity.
