Titanic was released by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox in December 1997, directed by James Cameron. The production became one of the most expensive films ever made at the time and went on to win eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Its blend of historical spectacle and intimate drama made it a defining cultural event of the late 1990s, drawing audiences back to theaters repeatedly and cementing its place as one of the highest-grossing films in cinema history.
