Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became a defining cultural event of its era, breaking box office records worldwide and earning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture. Its ambitious production, combining practical ocean-set photography with early digital effects, made it a landmark in late-twentieth-century filmmaking.
