Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became the highest-grossing motion picture of its time and won eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Its production scale and emotional ambition made it a defining cultural moment of the late 1990s, and original 35mm elements from the release carry lasting significance for collectors of cinema history.
