FILM NOTES

Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became the highest-grossing motion picture of its time and won eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. It represented a landmark in both practical and digital filmmaking, and its cultural reach extended well beyond the theatrical run, cementing it as one of the defining Hollywood productions of the late twentieth century.

This cell, titled Jack's Sketch of Rose, captures three consecutive frames from the film's intimate sketching sequence. Each frame shows Rose DeWitt Bukater, portrayed by Kate Winslet, reclining with her hands raised near her face in the characteristic pose of that scene. The three frames progress with subtle shifts in framing, offering a rare sequential view of a single sustained moment from one of the film's most recognized passages.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
