Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became a defining cultural moment of its era, breaking box office records worldwide and winning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture. Its production scale was unprecedented, with Cameron constructing a near full-scale replica of the ship on the Baja California coast to achieve the film's sweeping visual ambition.
