FILM NOTES

Titanic was released by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox in December 1997, directed by James Cameron. The production became one of the most expensive films ever made at the time and went on to win eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Its combination of historical spectacle and intimate drama made it a defining cinematic event of the late 1990s, drawing audiences back to theaters repeatedly and cementing its place in popular culture.

This cell carries the confirmed title Caledon Hockley and presents three frames of Billy Zane as Cal in a confrontational moment set within one of the Titanic's ornate grand interiors. Dressed in dark formal attire, Cal appears mid-gesture across the sequence, the elaborate surroundings contrasting with the tension visible in his posture. The three-frame progression gives the cell a strong sense of dramatic continuity.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
