FILM NOTES

Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became the highest-grossing motion picture of its time and earned eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture. Shot on 35mm, it represented a landmark in large-scale production filmmaking, blending practical sets, location photography, and emerging digital techniques to reconstruct the 1912 disaster with extraordinary ambition.

This cell, titled Rose DeWitt Bukater, captures Kate Winslet in character across three near-continuous frames set within a dimly lit interior aboard the ship. The beaded neckline detail of her period costume is visible throughout, and the sequence preserves a subtle progression of expression or movement, offering a quiet, intimate glimpse of one of cinema's most recognized performances held in a single strip of original 35mm film.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
