FILM NOTES

Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997, directed by James Cameron. The film became a defining cultural and cinematic event of its era, breaking box office records worldwide and earning eleven Academy Awards including Best Picture. Shot on 35mm, it represents one of the last major productions to fully commit to photochemical filmmaking at that scale before digital workflows reshaped the industry.

This cell, titled Jack and Rose, captures consecutive frames from a dimly lit interior moment between Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater, played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. The blue-tinted overhead light and tight composition suggest an intimate exchange. A faint vertical streak at the right edge of the third frame marks proximity to a cut point, offering a small but genuine glimpse into how the film was physically assembled.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
