Titanic was produced by Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox and released in December 1997. Directed by James Cameron, the film became a defining cultural event of its era, blending historical disaster with romantic drama to achieve unprecedented box office success. Its production scale and technical ambition set a new standard for Hollywood filmmaking in the late 1990s, and the film went on to win eleven Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
