Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, representing one of the studio's most ambitious productions of the era. Directors Ron Clements and John Musker transposed Robert Louis Stevenson's classic seafaring novel into a science-fiction setting, blending traditional hand-drawn character animation with extensive CGI environments. Though it struggled commercially upon release, the film has earned considerable reassessment over the years for its visual invention and emotional sincerity, standing as a distinctive entry in the Disney canon.

This cell captures a low-angle view looking up along the mast and rigging of the RLS Legacy, the great solar galleon central to the story. The billowing sails fill the frame against open sky, with a glowing lantern visible on the mast above. The triple-frame strip preserves near-duplicate exposures of this same composition, offering an intimate glimpse into the ship's imposing scale as rendered through Disney's layered animation process.
