Treasure Planet was released by Walt Disney Feature Animation in November 2002, representing one of the studio's most ambitious productions of the era. A reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transplanted into a science-fiction setting, the film blended traditional hand-drawn character animation with computer-generated environments. Though it struggled commercially upon release, it has since earned a devoted following for its visual inventiveness and emotional depth.
