Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, representing the studio's ambitious reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transplanted into a science-fiction setting. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film blended traditional hand-drawn animation with computer-generated imagery during a transitional period for the art form, making its production cells and frames particularly significant documents of that evolving craft.

This cell captures the RLS Legacy from an aerial perspective, her tall masts and red-and-white sails spread against a deep cosmic backdrop, with asteroid terrain visible below. The overhead framing gives the viewer a rare vantage point of the vessel in full sail, conveying the scale and design detail that defined the film's distinctive solar seafaring aesthetic.
