Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, a bold reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transposed to a steampunk cosmos. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film represented one of the studio's most ambitious technical undertakings, blending traditional hand-drawn animation with computer-generated environments through a process Disney called Deep Canvas. Though modestly received at the box office, it has earned considerable appreciation over the decades for its visual invention and design ambition.

This trio of consecutive 35mm frames captures the RLS Legacy under full sail, the great balloon and rigging filling the frame from a dramatic upward angle against a deep blue sky. The sequential nature of the cells preserves the subtle motion of the composition, with distant figures visible near the mast hardware and creatures drifting through the background. Together they offer a rare, uninterrupted glimpse of the ship that anchors the film's entire visual identity.
