Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, representing one of the studio's most ambitious late-era traditionally animated productions. A bold reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transplanted into a retro-futuristic space setting, the film blended hand-drawn character animation with extensive CG environments. Though it struggled commercially upon release, it has since earned genuine appreciation among animation enthusiasts for its visual ambition and emotional sincerity.
