Treasure Planet was released by Walt Disney Pictures in November 2002, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the team behind The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. The film represented one of the studio's most ambitious traditional animation efforts of the era, blending hand-drawn characters with extensive CGI environments in a science-fiction reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel. Though a box office disappointment at the time, it has since earned a devoted following for its visual ambition and emotional depth.
