Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Animation Studios, representing one of the studio's most ambitious technical undertakings of the era. Directors Ron Clements and John Musker blended traditional hand-drawn character animation with extensive CGI environments, a process they called "Deep Canvas." The film reimagined Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel in an interstellar setting, and while it underperformed theatrically, it has since earned considerable appreciation for its visual craft and emotional sincerity.

This cell, titled Jim and Morph, captures a quiet character moment between Jim Hawkins and the small shapeshifting creature Morph. Across the three frames, Morph cycles through soft, orb-like forms while hovering above Jim's outstretched hand as Jim gazes upward, the dark background drawing full attention to the gentle interplay between the two figures.
