Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Animation Studios, representing one of the studio's most ambitious reimaginings of a literary classic. Adapting Robert Louis Stevenson's novel into a science-fiction setting, the film blended traditional hand-drawn character animation with extensive CGI environments. Though it underperformed commercially, it has since earned a devoted following for its visual ambition, emotional depth, and the striking design of its solar-sailing galleons traversing deep space.

This three-frame cell captures Jim Hawkins on the exterior of the RLS Legacy, filmed from a low angle that places the ship's superstructure and open sky above him. Across the consecutive frames, Jim clings to the rigging and hull as the composition shifts subtly, preserving a single continuous moment of the young protagonist navigating the vast architecture of the ship.
