Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, representing one of the studio's most ambitious late-era traditionally animated productions. A reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel set in a retrofuturist cosmos, the film blended hand-drawn character animation with extensive CGI environments. Though its theatrical run proved disappointing, it has earned considerable reappraisal for its visual invention and emotional depth, particularly the relationship at its center.

This cell, titled Jim on the RLS Legacy, captures Jim Hawkins suspended among rigging cables against the film's characteristic amber and orange palette during the climactic sequence. Long John Silver is present within the same continuous action, and the framing reflects the charged tension between the two characters that defines the film's final act.
