Treasure Planet was released by Walt Disney Feature Animation in November 2002, a bold reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transposed to a science-fiction setting. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film combined traditional hand-drawn animation with CGI environments, representing one of the final major productions of Disney's traditional animation era before the studio shifted focus. Though a box-office disappointment at the time, it has since earned a devoted following for its ambitious visual design and scope.
