FILM NOTES

Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, representing one of the studio's most ambitious late-era traditionally animated productions. Directors Ron Clements and John Musker transposed Robert Louis Stevenson's classic seafaring novel into a retro-futurist cosmos, blending hand-drawn characters with extensive CGI environments. Released during a transitional period for Disney animation, the film has since earned a devoted following for its visual invention and emotional sincerity.

This cell captures the aerial approach to The Montressor Spaceport, presenting the domed structure rising from the golden, rocky terrain below. Small craft drift through the sky above, establishing the scale and atmosphere of this bustling interstellar hub. Spanning what appears to be a continuous establishing shot, the frame offers a rare wide perspective on one of the film's most architecturally distinctive locations.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
