Treasure Planet arrived in November 2002 from Walt Disney Feature Animation, a bold reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transplanted into a retro-futuristic space setting. Released during a transitional period for traditional hand-drawn animation, the film represented one of the studio's most ambitious and technically complex productions, blending classical cel techniques with pioneering CGI integration. Though modestly received at the box office, it has earned considerable appreciation over the years for its visual invention and emotional depth.
