Treasure Planet was released by Walt Disney Pictures in November 2002, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the team behind The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. The film represented one of the studio's most ambitious productions of the era, blending traditional hand-drawn animation with extensive CGI to realize its science-fiction reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel. Though a commercial disappointment on release, it has earned a devoted following over the decades for its visual invention and emotional sincerity.

This cell captures Jim Hawkins in a sequence of three frames, each showing him riding his solar surfer against an open blue sky scattered with clouds, thruster fire visible beneath the board. The frames catch him in slightly shifting positions, preserving the fluid motion of one of the film's most kinetic and visually distinctive passages.
