Treasure Planet arrived from Walt Disney Animation Studios in November 2002, a bold reimagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic novel transplanted into a retro-futurist cosmos. Directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film blended traditional hand-drawn character animation with CG environments at a moment when the studio was navigating a difficult transition period, making it a distinctive and increasingly appreciated artifact of that era.
