FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, directed by Rob Cohen and produced under Neal Moritz's Original Film banner. Drawing from a Vibe magazine article about street racing culture, it arrived at a moment when American action cinema was searching for a new template. The film launched one of the longest-running franchises in studio history and introduced a cast that would define the genre for the following two decades.

This cell captures Leon in what appears to be a club or race event setting, the warm amber overhead lighting cutting against a dark background as he stands with arms raised near his head. Three consecutive frames from the same moment, the shot preserves a quiet peripheral detail from a film better remembered for its larger set pieces.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
