FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, directed by Rob Cohen and produced under Neal Moritz's Original Film banner. Drawing from a Vibe magazine article about street racing culture, the film launched one of cinema's most enduring franchises. Shot on location in Los Angeles, it captured a particular moment in early 2000s car culture and ensemble action filmmaking, earning over $200 million worldwide on a modest budget.

This three-frame sequence, confirmed as Vince, presents the character in close continuous action, the strip rotated ninety degrees on the original 35mm negative. The warm amber and golden tones saturating the background give the frames a distinctive palette, while the near-identical framing across all three cells reflects the rhythm of a sustained dramatic moment.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
