FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, directed by Rob Cohen and produced under Neal Moritz's Original Film banner. Drawing from a 1998 Vibe magazine article about street racing culture, the film launched one of cinema's most enduring franchises. Shot on 35mm, it captured the neon-lit underground racing world of Los Angeles with a kinetic energy that resonated strongly with audiences and redefined the action genre for a new generation.

This cell presents three frames of Dominic Toretto in close-up against a dark background, the strip oriented sideways on the 35mm negative. The framing remains consistent across all three images, with subtle variation in background detail between them, offering an intimate portrait of the character central to the entire series.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
