FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, launching what would become one of the studio's most enduring franchises. Directed by Rob Cohen, the film arrived at a moment when street racing culture was crossing into mainstream American cinema, and its blend of Los Angeles underground racing, heist plotting, and ensemble performance gave it a cultural footprint well beyond its modest origins.

This cell, titled Dom's Car, captures Dominic Toretto's iconic black Dodge Charger in an aerial driving sequence, the vehicle moving steadily along a tree-lined road in the film's distinctive warm, sepia register. Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto is the defining presence of the franchise, and his Charger functions as an extension of the character throughout the picture, making this elevated perspective a quietly significant piece of the film's visual language.
