FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, launching what would become one of the studio's most enduring franchises. Directed by Rob Cohen, the film arrived at a moment when street racing culture was entering mainstream American cinema, drawing on influences from automotive subcultures and earlier action filmmaking. Its commercial success reshaped how studios approached ensemble action properties built around car culture.

This cell, titled Dom's Car, captures Dominic Toretto's iconic dark muscle car moving along an open road, framed against trees and utility poles in a sepia-toned print. The three continuous frames carry a subtle motion blur that conveys the vehicle's momentum, preserving a quiet but characteristic moment from one of cinema's most recognizable automotive characters.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
