FILM NOTES

Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, produced through Neal H. Moritz's Original Film banner. Arriving at a moment when street racing culture was crossing into mainstream American consciousness, the film launched one of cinema's most enduring franchises and introduced audiences to a world of modified cars, loyalty, and Los Angeles nights. Its 35mm photography captured a particular warmth and grain that became inseparable from the original film's identity.

This cell, confirmed as Hector and Crew, preserves three frames from what reads as a communal gathering scene, likely set within the Toretto household or surrounding street environment. Hector and those around him appear mid-celebration, the frames rotated on the strip in a manner common to certain 35mm pull sequences. A partial lens reflection marks the middle frame, giving this three-frame run a quiet documentary quality.

This original motion picture film element has been examined and authenticated by Crown Grading in partnership with National Film Vault, and encapsulated for archival preservation.
