Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, directing the studio toward a franchise that would span more than two decades. Directed by Rob Cohen, the film arrived at a moment when street racing culture was crossing into mainstream American cinema, and its commercial success reshaped how studios approached action properties built around automotive spectacle.
The Fast and the Future Title Card presents three successive frames of the film's title logo against a black field, captured on 35mm. The third frame carries a lens burn and splice artifact, evidence of the print's working life in theatrical distribution. Together the trio offers a compact record of how this title announced itself to audiences in 2001.
