Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious in June 2001, directed by Rob Cohen from a screenplay by Gary Scott Thompson, Erik Bergquist, and David Ayer. Produced on a modest budget, the film became a surprise summer hit and launched one of Hollywood's most enduring franchises, reshaping how studios approached action cinema built around car culture and ensemble casts.

The Fast and the Future Title Card preserves three frames from the film's main title sequence, each presenting the iconic logo treatment against black. Two frames carry the signature light flare that briefly washes across the lettering, while the third captures the title emerging through a circular iris effect, offering a rare look at the optical artistry embedded in those opening seconds.
