New Line Cinema released Freddy vs. Jason in August 2003, closing out a decades-long rivalry between two of horror's most enduring icons. Directed by Ronny Yu, the film drew on the full weight of both the Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street franchises, delivering a crossover that fans had anticipated since the late 1980s. It remains one of the more commercially successful horror films of its decade and a genuine artifact of early 2000s genre filmmaking.

This cell, titled Jason, captures Ken Kirzinger as Jason Voorhees standing over Chris Gauthier's Shack during their cornfield confrontation. Across three frames, the overhead and low-angle perspectives emphasize Jason's imposing scale amid dense foliage, his blue-grey jacket and hockey mask rendered in the warm tones of the location photography. A circular lens flare marks the second frame, a small imperfection native to the original photochemical print.
