FILM NOTES

The Garbage Pail Kids Movie was released in August 1987 by Atlantic Releasing Corporation, adapted from the wildly popular Topps trading card series. Directed by Rod Amateau, the film pushed the boundaries of mainstream children's entertainment with its grotesque practical creature effects and irreverent humor, earning an immediate PG rating and considerable controversy. Despite a poor critical reception, it has endured as a genuine cult artifact of late-1980s pop culture, representing a unique moment when a novelty card craze translated directly to theatrical release.

This cell carries the confirmed title Foul Phil and presents three frames from what appears to be a choreographed stage sequence shot under blue-tinted lighting. Foul Phil, portrayed by Art Palma and Arturo Gil, appears alongside Greaser Greg, played by Phil Fondacaro, in dynamic physical poses across multiple frames. Juice, portrayed by Ron MacLachlan, joins Foul Phil in the second frame. A circular light artifact from the production's lighting panel is visible in the third frame, offering an unguarded glimpse into the practical filmmaking conditions of the production.
