The Garbage Pail Kids Movie was released in 1987 by Atlantic Releasing Corporation, adapted from the wildly popular Topps trading card series that had scandalized parents and delighted children throughout the mid-1980s. Directed by Rod Amateau, the film occupies a singular place in cult cinema history, representing a moment when the gross-out card phenomenon reached its most ambitious and controversial form on screen.

This cell, titled Garbage Pail Kids by the operator, captures a dark interior sequence featuring two figures — an adult male and a younger person — rendered across three consecutive frames. The composition repeats with subtle variation, blue costuming visible at the upper edge of the final frame, while the middle frame bears distinctive oval optical damage marking the film's long journey through time.
